Clean Your Streams Day

Tired of all the trash along the streams in the area? Come help PCS and its Partners clean your streambanks. Over 47 tons of trash have been collected in the first eleven years from local streambanks. Interesting items such as a compass, gas can, necklace, seat from a car, lego man, computer, respirator, baby bottle, golf club, dog kennel, birth control pills, pillow, Geocache, lampshade, 18” concrete pony, hospital mask, brief case, bowling ball, old school desk, and Big Wheel tricycle were found last year and hauled away for proper disposal.

Volunteer to remove litter and see what you can find. Clean Your Streams Day begins at 8 a.m. and ends with an Appreciation Picnic for all participants following the cleanup. Awards are given for our competitions at the picnic, as well as special thank you items for participants. Information from previous years can be downloaded from the PCS Publications page.

Clean Your Streams is perfect for student community service credits. Organization, school, and business groups are encouraged to participate as a team. Don’t forget to wear something to advertise your group, or bring a banner to let everyone know who you are. If you are bringing a group, please give us a call at (419)936-3751 to pre-register or download and submit the Group Pre-registration Form. Groups are encouraged to send one representative to site captain training for every 8-10 cleanup volunteers. This is not required, however it helps to maintain safety and organization for the event.
