Clean Your Streams Day

Tired of all the trash along the streams in the area? Come help PCS and its Partners clean your streambanks. Over 79 tons of trash have been collected in fourteen years from local streambanks. Interesting items such as gun safe, prom dress, 18’ boat w/motor, pipe organ, 1988 hunting license, antique ringer washing machine, parking tickets (5), Employee of the Month award, 1973 Pepsi can, koala statue, book bag w/anatomy & biology books were found last year and hauled away for proper disposal.

Volunteer to remove litter and see what you can find. Clean Your Streams Day begins at 8 a.m. and ends with an Appreciation Picnic for all participants following the cleanup. Awards are given for our competitions at the picnic, as well as special thank you items for participants. Information from previous years can be downloaded from the PCS Publications page.

Clean Your Streams is perfect for student community service credits. Organization, school, and business groups are encouraged to participate as a team. Don’t forget to wear something to advertise your group, or bring a banner to let everyone know who you are. Are bringing a group? Please register on-line after July 15 at www.regonline.com/CYSRegistration or give us a call at (419)936-3015 or download and submit the Group Registration Form. Groups are encouraged to send one representative to site captain training for every 8-10 cleanup volunteers. This is not required, however it helps to maintain safety and organization for the event.

A Clean Your Streams poster is available to help you share information about this
    great event.

Liability forms will be available at each Kickoff Location or can be downloaded before
the event for those volunteers who under 18 and need a parent or guardian signature.

Partners for Clean Streams uses all funds raised from this event to primarily support the event. Any remaining proceeds are used to conduct research, carry out projects, raise awareness, and improve our area streams.
