Youth Patch Program
Get the Lead Out!
Clean Your Streams

PCS Youth Patch Program
Held at three locations in late April each year

The PCS Youth Patch Program is designed to help area youth learn about our local fresh water sources and how to keep those sources clean and abundant. Patch recipients can wear their patch with greater pride of ownership in our local waterways and will be eager to continue as active partners in their preservation.

PCS offers an annual Patch Workshop in late April each year for those that would like to earn the Patch. At the half-day workshop five activities will be conducted to meet all the requirements of earning the patch. If you are unable to attend the workshop but would still like to learn about our area streams and earn a patch, there is an option for you. A PCS patch Program booklet is
available for those individuals or groups that would like to complete the five requirements on their own. Simply Download the booklet, complete the activities, let PCS know what you did, and we can send you a patch.

Leaders attending previous workshops have commented that:

"So interesting – learned a lot!"

"This was one of the best programs we ever took our girls to."

"Loved it. Great blend of listening and interactive stations. Great variety."

Check the PCS Calendar for this year's workshop date and registration requirements.

Clean Your Streams
Held on a Saturday in early September each year

Clean Your Streams volunteers signed in at one of the many kickoff locations and are placed on teams to clean up sites along area waterways, including the Maumee River, Ottawa River, Swan Creek, Duck Creek, and Otter Creek. They removed litter and record what they find on data cards. After a couple hours of hours of picking up trash, volunteers from all sites gathered at one location for an Appreciation Picnic. At the picnic, volunteers are treated to a free hot lunch, thanked with a Clean Your Streams t-shirt, and provided with cleanup results. The awards for the Challenge Competitions are also presented at the picnic. For more information visit our CYS web page.
