Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

Description

For over 20 years, volunteers have gathered together on one day across the greater Toledo region to remove trash from the streams, rivers, and Lake Erie during Clean Your Streams Day. Partners for Clean Streams, with help from many partnering organizations, is excited to announce the 23rd Annual Clean Your Streams Day on Saturday, September 21st. Registration for this program is currently open and can be done here: http://partnersforcleanstreams.org/cys23/register. Individuals, organizations, businesses, groups, and all ages are welcome to sign up for this unique service opportunity. Registration will be open until September 13th.
The cleanup begins at 8:00am on Saturday Sept. 21st with a check-in, orientation, and light breakfast. Groups will then be assigned a site where they will do the three-hour cleanup. We have seven kickoff locations this year – Side Cut Metropark, University of Toledo Law School, Olander Park Open Air Shelter, Oregon Municipal Building, Three Meadows Park Shelter House, Monroe Street United Methodist Church, and Middlegrounds Metropark. During orientation, volunteers will be welcomed by their Kickoff Coordinator, briefed on cleanup instructions, safety precautions, and given their cleanup site for the remainder of the day. By 9:00am, volunteers will spread out to their assigned sites, all within the Ottawa River, Swan Creek, Maumee River, and Lake Erie tributaries and Maumee Bay watersheds. For three hours, volunteers collect as much trash as possible at their assigned sites and track the information on data cards.
Partners for Clean Streams Inc. is striving for abundant open space and a high quality natural environment; adequate floodwater storage capacities and flourishing wildlife; stakeholders who take local ownership in their resources; and rivers, streams and lakes that are clean, clear and safe
