Youth Patch Program

Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

Youth Patch Day

Youth Patch Day Workshop

The 2019 Youth Patch Day Workshop is tentatively scheduled for March 3rd, 2019 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm at the Lake Erie Center in Oregon, Ohio.

During the Patch Day Workshop, energetic Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other groups in 2nd through 5th grade earn the blue and white embroidered Partnering for Clean Streams Patch by participating in various water-related activities. Water Quality Professionals from Northwest Ohio come and lead activities that teach the boy and girl scouts how important water is in our daily lives. All of the sessions include hands-on activities. The participants are introduced to storm drains, waterway pollution, how we all have a role in taking actions that conserve our water resources.  Participants and parents are amazed to discover that of all the water on Earth, only 1% is actually drinkable and that of that 1%, the Great Lakes contain 25% of it!  This activity shows just how critical it is that we all become better stewards of our streams, rivers, and lakes.
