Event Promotion

Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

Event Promotion

Want to show your support in a BIG way? This type of donation is great for businesses that would like to support a single event and receive recognition for that support. Events include the Patch Day Workshop, Get the Lead Out, Storm Drain Stenciling and Clean Your Streams. There are multiple levels of donation with corresponding recognition for each event.

Contributing to a specific event with the Event Promotion allows businesses to choose their level of support to a specific event while receiving appropriate recognition. Your contribution will help PCS to continue its community education programs and conservation through specific events. In this type of support, all of your money is donated directly to that event*.

Clean Your Streams

Clean Your Streams is our biggest annual event, held every year in September. Beginning at one of several regional kickoffs, volunteers clean-up miles of rivers, creeks, ditches, and Lake Erie shoreline, and celebrate their accomplishments at our post-clean-up volunteer appreciation picnic.

 - Averages around 500 volunteers, spread across seven regional kickoffs.

 - Across more than a quarter-century of Clean Your Streams, more than 350,000 pounds of trash have been removed by about 15,000 volunteers.

Get the Lead Out!

This program runs throughout mid and late summer, following early-season fishing runs and when Maumee River water levels are lowest. Volunteers work in the Maumee River and along its shoreline to collect fishing line, lead sinkers, hooks, lures, and plenty of other marine debris.

- This program averages between 3-5 clean-ups per season, with between 1-10 pounds of fishing debris alone removed per clean-up.

- Fishing line is recycled through a partnership with the Berkley Conservation Institute.
