Did you know that the Great Lakes are the biggest freshwater source in the world? Lake Erie is the most productive for fishing of all the Great Lakes. Your support helps make our streams clean, clear and healthy so they can support this complex ecosystem. By donating to PCS, you help us reach our goals of restoring rivers that lead to Lake Erie beaches that promote fishable and swimmable conditions for generations.

This generous grant will be used to provide staffing and supplies for our Clean Your Streams and Clean Your Streams 365 programs, as well as to support more than 500 volunteers expected to participate in 2022 clean-ups.

In addition to providing immediate support at program clean-ups, these funds allow us to identify future targeted waterway clean-up sites across Lucas County and northern Wood County, and to provide education for volunteers about marine debris. The Sisters of St. Francis Fund chose to support these programs motivated by their “Care for Creation” principle, which focuses on activities around sustainability, earth science and education, neighborhood beatification, and clean air and water.

The Sisters of St. Francis Foundation Fund envisions communities in which all members have equal opportunity to thrive. Consistent with their mission statement, grants from the Sisters of St. Francis Fund support a variety of organizations and programs which are working in one or more of the following areas: (1) aiding in the fight against human trafficking and/or offering support to its victims; (2) offering support to immigrants and refugees; and (3) broadly advancing social justice and equal access to opportunity through other programs and strategies.

Greater Toledo Community Foundation is a public charitable organization created by citizens of our community to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families in our area. In existence since 1973, the Foundation has more than 900 individual current funds with assets of approximately $409 million. The Foundation provides philanthropic services for individuals, families, businesses and corporations to meet their charitable giving needs. For more information on the Foundation, visit the organization’s website at www.toledocf.org or follow them on Facebook or LinkedIn.

We are so excited to share what we accomplish with their support this year!
